To me, WECode brings together an inspiring and impactful group of people intent on deconstructing systemic biases. Outside of computer science, I'm interested in space exploration, education, clean energy, books, and Frisbees. I'm excited to be back on the team for another year, and can't wait to meet all of you.
Hailing from the Pacific Golden coast of California, Emily enjoys 3D printing, soft and fuzzy objects, and eating sushi. She enjoys exploring and learning about different topics and people. She joined WECode to meet other women like her and to hold a conference for an open dialogue.
Lisa Lu is a sophomore studying computer science, with specific interests in artificial intelligence and software engineering. She was inspired to join the WECode team after last year's conference convinced her to pursue computer science. In addition to WECode, she researches ways to close the gender gap in tech as a WiCS Advocacy Council member. A native Floridian, her hobbies include going to the beach, photography, and yoga.
Hi! I'm a sophomore in Kirkland House concentrating in Computer Science, and I'm super excited to join the WECode team this year. I love finding simple solutions to complex problems, finding shortest paths to good food, dancing, startups, and ducks.
Alaisha is a freshman hailing from Mountain View, California and planning to study computer science. She is most passionate about sustainability and green technology, and hopes to pursue both through entrepreneurship. She is also very proud to help promote women in computer science as a member of the WECode team this year! In her spare time, Alaisha enjoys ballet, photography, and reading fantasy literature accompanied by a good cup of tea.
I am a sophomore concentrating in Computer Science. I grew up in nearby Weston, MA and like to teach/mentor and run outside of school. I am really excited to join the WECode team after attending the conference last year!
Hi, I'm Celina and I'm a sophomore from Boston, MA concentrating in Neurobiology with a secondary in Computer Science! I joined WECode because I thought it was an amazing opportunity to get involved with issues of gender inclusivity in this field and to promote the empowerment of women across the nation. Outside of WECode, I'm involved with Habitat for Humanity, the Ivy Council, Relay for Life, and Harvard Cheerleading.
Anisha is a freshman at Harvard and hails from the great city of Philadelphia. She is interested in studying computer science and molecular biology. When not psetting, she enjoys movie nights and heated games of SET. Anisha's a proud member of the Harvard Democrats and South Asian Association. She joined WECode because she wants to encourage other women to explore technology and innovation in a collaborative and hands-on environment.
Grace is a freshman who loves computer science and math! Originally from New York, she misses the big city but is growing fonder of Cambridge everyday! In her free time, she enjoys coding, reading, and ultimate frisbee!
I'm from Amherst, Massachusetts, a small rural/suburban college town in Western Mass. I love reading, listening to music, watching movies, and eating good food. I intend to concentrate in computer science, and I joined the WECode team because I think it's not only going to be a great way for community to be built among women in computer science but also a very fun time!
Demi Guo is a freshman in Weld Hall at Harvard College. She's planning to major in applied math and computer science, but she also enjoys learning about knowledge in completely different fields, always trying to explore and challenge herself. Interested in gender inequality and entrepreneurship, she also loves food, dogs, running, reading poems outdoors and just simply enjoying life.
Kristine is a freshman from the San Francisco Bay Area interested in studying statistics and computer science. Outside of conducting scientific research and solving tough puzzles, she enjoys hiking, doodling, and playing the tenor saxophone. She's incredibly excited to help connect the women in CS community through WECode!
Akshitha is a freshman passionate about technology as it applies to business. Consequently, she is planning to major in computer science and is, at the same time, actively involved in the consulting club. She likes to venture into the entrepreneurial world that lies at the intersection of life science, mathematics and societal progress. But, how does she unwind? Travel, Netflix, hiking and most importantly, discovering the best ice-cream place in Cambridge, MA.
I'm a freshman from Rhode Island, now residing in the Wigglet and potentially concentrating in computer science. I'm so excited to be part of the WECode Team this year, helping to promote the conference and expand the community of women in computer science! Besides WiCS, I am also a member of the Radcliffe Pitches, and enjoy being with family, reading, and contemplating art.
